Love Compatibility Calculator

Find out exactly how compatible you and your crush are. Spoiler: no AI, just dramatic vibes.

  • Free forever
  • Instant results
  • Private — runs in your browser

How to use the Love Compatibility calculator

  1. Type your name and your crush's name (first names work best — nicknames are allowed, we don't judge).
  2. Tap Test our compatibility and endure two seconds of unbearable suspense.
  3. Get your score, then share the card to the group chat and let the drama begin.

The same two names always give the same score, in any order and regardless of capitals or extra spaces — so there's no re-rolling your way to 100%. It's made for fun, not for life decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Is the love calculator accurate?

No — and no love calculator is. Your score comes from a simple formula applied to the letters of your names, so it says nothing real about your relationship. It's built purely for entertainment (and for screenshots). Real compatibility comes from communication, shared values and kindness.

How does a love calculator work?

We lowercase and trim both names, sort them alphabetically so the order does not matter, and run them through a small hash function that turns the letters into a number from 0 to 100. That number is your compatibility percentage.

Why do I always get the same result for the same names?

Because the score is deterministic: the same pair of names always produces the same number. That makes it perfect for settling arguments and means a friend who opens your shared link sees exactly the same result.

Does the order of the names or capitalisation matter?

No. "Sam + Alex", "alex + sam" and "SAM + Alex " all give an identical score.

Can I share my love test result?

Yes. Tap Share result to send a link or a ready-made image card to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, X and more. The link opens straight to your score so your friends can see it — and then try their own.

Do you store the names I type?

No. Everything runs in your browser. The names only appear in the page link so the result can be shared, and only if you choose to share it.

⚠️ Entertainment Only

This calculator is designed purely for fun and entertainment. It uses a playful algorithm based on name inputs and has absolutely no scientific or psychological basis. Real compatibility depends on communication, shared values, mutual respect, and emotional intelligence — not on a percentage generated from names. Enjoy the laughs, but don't make relationship decisions based on this!

History & interesting facts

Did you know?

Research on actual relationship compatibility suggests shared values, communication styles, and conflict resolution skills are far better predictors of relationship success than any algorithm based on names or zodiac signs.

Origin & history

Love calculators became one of the earliest viral internet phenomena in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Websites like "Love Calculator" attracted millions of visitors who entered their name and their crush's name to get a "compatibility percentage." These tools have no scientific basis but remain popular for entertainment.

Fascinating facts

  1. 1

The "36 Questions" experiment by psychologist Arthur Aron demonstrated that mutual vulnerability and self-disclosure can accelerate feelings of closeness between strangers.

  2. 2

Studies show that couples who laugh together and maintain a 5:1 ratio of positive to negative interactions have the strongest relationships.

  3. 3

Name-based love calculators use hash functions or character value sums to generate seemingly meaningful percentages from purely random associations.
