How to use the Salary Per Second calculator

  1. Choose Yearly salary or Hourly wage and type your gross pay.
  2. Pick your currency and drag the slider to the hours you work per week.
  3. Watch the live ticker count up what you've earned since opening the page, then share your per-second rate.

Per-second, per-minute and per-hour figures use working time (hours per week ร— 52 weeks). Per work day assumes a five-day week. The currency selector only changes the symbol and number format โ€” no exchange rates are applied.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate how much I earn per second?

Divide your yearly pay by the number of hours you work in a year (hours per week ร— 52) to get your hourly rate, then divide by 3,600. For example, 60,000 a year at 40 hours a week is 28.85 an hour, or about 0.008 per second.

How much is $100,000 a year per hour?

At 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year (2,080 hours), $100,000 a year is about $48.08 an hour, $0.80 a minute and roughly 1.3 cents per second, before tax.

Is this before or after tax?

Before tax. Enter your gross salary to see gross earnings, or your take-home pay if you would rather see what actually lands in your account.

Does the ticker include holidays and weekends?

The ticker uses your working rate, as if you are on the clock right now. The small "even asleep" figure spreads your yearly pay over every second of the year instead.

Does it convert between currencies?

No. Choosing USD, EUR, GBP or INR only changes the currency symbol, number format and the example prices โ€” the amount you type is used as-is.
